Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator of English Cynthia Turner Camp, associate professor of English, specializes in medieval literature and manuscript culture. Her first book, Anglo-Saxon Saints' Lives as History Writing in Late Medieval England (2015), looks at the way Middle English writers constructed England's early medieval past through saints. Her current research focuses on the memorial traditions of English nunneries as well as the movement of texts through prayerbooks. In the English department she teaches Middle English courses (including Chaucer) and courses on medieval book production. One ongoing teaching project -- the Hargrett Hours Project -- focuses on deciphering a (primarily Latin) prayerbook owned by UGA's Special Collections Library.
