The Department will award the Edward E. Best, Jr. Award each spring to an undergraduate student majoring in Latin or Greek who has a GPA of at least 3.5. The award is designed to assist the recipient to offset expenses, such as tuition and fees, directly related to the pursuit of the major. The recipient of the award must take at least one Latin or Greek course during each semester of the year the award is held; these courses must be taken in residence in Athens. Students are nominated by a member of the faculty for the Best Award.
