UGA CLASSICS Study Abroad Programs The UGA Classics in Rome program has educated students abroad since 1970 as a founding study abroad program at UGA with UGA Cortona. UGA Classics Study Abroad programs, led and taught by Classics faculty, take students of all UGA colleges and major programs to Rome and throughout Italy and Europe to explore Classical antiquity and its reception. These enriching programs offer great opportunities to add a Classics Major or Classical Culture Minor and to gain valuable career-building skills. UGA Classics in Rome (Summer 9 credit hours) UGA Classics Europe: Unearthing the Past (Maymester 6 credit hours) UGA- Franklin Croatia: Heritage Conservation and Archaeology (Maymester 9 credit hours) Courses taught on these programs satisfy the UGA Experiential Learning Requirement and GENED/Franklin College Requirements. The Department of Classics belongs to the Intercollegiate Center of Classical Studies in Rome (ICCS), the American Academy in Rome (AAR), the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (ASCSA), and College Year in Athens (CYA), all of which offer study abroad opportunities for students of Classics.
