Relocating Arcadia: An Intertextual Analysis of Vergil's Eclogue 5

In this analysis, Mary Lou Brown will examine how Vergil layers his reception of the Greek pastoral with the conversation between Pre- and Post-Alexandrian style of poetry, in order to break the mold of the Greek tradition to recast pastoral poetry into a contemporary conversation with his times.
